The Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY) examination has been conducted on January 31, 2021 for SA, SX and SB streams and its result will be announced by February-end. The KVPY result is declared in the form of a merit list of the candidates selected for the KVPY fellowship. In 2021, the KVPY merit list will only be prepared on the basis of Aptitude test as the interviews have been scrapped. The merit list i.e., the provisional list of candidates for KVPY fellowship is further based on the cut off marks set for the Aptitude Test.
The Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY) is conducted by the the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) and is supported by the Department of Science and technology, government of India. The aim of KVPY is to promote the research career in Science among the aspiring Basic Sciences students. The exam is conducted for SA, SX and SB streams, where SA is for students in class 11, SB is for students in first year of degree course for Basic Sciences and SX is for class 12 students.
KVPY Result 2021
The Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bangalore, the exam conducting authority, is expected to announce the result of KVPY 2021 by the end of February month of in the first week of March. The results are usually announced in 4-6 weeks after the conduct of the exam. The exact date is not mentioned in the official notification. The candidates should keep checking the official site regularly to check for the result notice.
KVPY result 2021 will be declared in two ways; 1) a merit list of the provisionally selected candidates on the basis of results/cut off marks of aptitude test, and 2) individual marks of the candidates.

- Go to the official site www.kvpy.org.in
- Navigate to “Results” section
- Click on ” Results of Aptitude test of KVPY Fellowship 2020-2021″, which will lead to the merit list and cut off marks displaying page.
- Click on “Check your marks” to view your score in the aptitude test
- Login using your Application number and date of birth to see the marks and merit list status.
KVPY Selection Process 2021
At the official website, the selection procedure for KVPY 2021 is mentioned only as ‘Aptitude Test’. The press note at official site says ” Candidates who meet the eligibility criteria for SA/SB/SX streams, will be called for Aptitude Test held on January 31, 2021/”.
It means there will be no interviews in KVPY 2021 and results/merit list will solely be on the basis of candidates’ marks in the aptitude test. Scrapping of interviews is sure to push the cut off marks high.
KVPY Cut Off Marks 2021
The candidates’s selection for the KVPY fellowship is done on the basis of cut off marks. The candidates are to obtain the marks same or more than that mentioned in the official cut off. The official cut off marks is released on the same day of result and merit list publication.

Upto last year, the cut off marks used to be based on aptitude test as well as interview, however for 2021, the cut off marks will solely be based on the aptitude test.

It is expected that KVPY cut off marks 2021 will be slightly higher than previous year but given above is a safe zone for the candidates.
